Connect deeply with yourself, the natural world, and a like-minded community through daily meditation and yoga practices, shared meals, and guided hikes that celebrate the beauty and bounty of summer.

Retreat Center  

The Dharmakaya Center for Wellbeing is a meditation and retreat center in Cragsmoor, New York, that focuses on ancient Buddhist teachings and holistic wellbeing. The center's 90-acre campus includes a large meditation hall, a library, comfortable accommodations, dining hall, outdoor practice pavilion, and beautiful outdoor spaces for practices like forest bathing and walking meditation.


Retreat Hostesses 

Vicki Bannister& Megan Martino 
A mother-daughter team who co-own Rolling Brook Yoga will be your retreat hostesses. You will enjoy all-levels yoga practices with both, guided restorative yoga & yoga nidra with Vicki, and a sound bath with Megan.

Cuisine 

All meals are included and prepared by the chefs at Dharmakaya. You will enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a spacious dining hall together with other retreat guests. All meals are delicious, varied, nutritious, farm to table vegetarian and vegan meals that use the freshest, most nutritious, least processed foods available. During registration, all attendees will be asked to provide any dietary concerns to the Dharmakaya Center. All  ingredients are listed next to each dish. You will have access to fruit, snacks, coffee, tea, and water throughout the day. 


Yoga

Each morning we will start the day with a guided meditation to focus the attention, relax the body, and cultivate serenity. Daily 75- or 90-minute yoga and pranayama practices in the outdoor pavilion will allow participants the opportunity to deepen their own rhythms with those of nature. Well-rounded yoga practices designed to cultivate inner balance, joy, and vitality. Evening yoga nidra, restorative yoga, and a sound bath cool and re-charge the body, mind, & spirit! All yoga props are provided by Dharmakaya. All practices will be taught for all-levels with options for advancements.


Activities 

Not only will you have quiet time to spend on your own or developing community with your fellow yoga practitioners, you will have access to explore the 90-acres of peaceful refuge found at Dharmakaya. Release your worries and let the busy world melt away as you soak in the beauty of nature.

Led by Megan & Vicki, we will take an off-campus, group hike to Minnewaska State Park Preserve (Sam’s Point Overlook to Ice Cave Trail; 3.5 miles, moderate) to explore the stunning cliffs and scenic hiking trails with breathtaking views. Additionally, your hostesses, will offer a walking meditation through the wooded paths on campus  dotted with statues of Buddha and other deities, as well as nature forms, offering numerous places for meditation and quiet contemplation. And as a group, we will bond through the Japanese Art of Kintsugi, Beauty in Broken Things.
